Malou Stam (1993, The Netherlands)
When I look up at the sky, sometimes the feeling hits me that there's no time. In this moment it's as if I suddenly stand on my head and my 'worldly concerns' turn upside down. Here, I find, that the relation between nature and culture and life and death transforms. It is in this space that I try to practice sculpture.
I often work with clay and plaster and I like to combine the two as well, plus other earthly elements like leaves and pigments. I also explore heavier materials such as stone, aluminous cement and bronze.
